18-Month Well Baby Visit

Do you have a toddler?  If so, 18-months is an important time in their development.

It’s important to schedule a well-baby visit with your health care provider at this time.  At your child’s appointment you’ll have the chance to talk about your child’s development.  In addition, your health care provider will:

  • give your child their 18-month immunizations
  • weigh and measure your child
  • answer any questions that you may have.

You will also receive a coupon for a free book from your local Best Start Hub.  You can download the 18-month well baby pamphlet to learn more.

Best Start Hubs

Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres (OEYCFCs)

The Ministry of Education is transforming child and family programs to establish Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centres (OEYCFCs).  This transformation will result in Ministry-funded child and family programs, such as the Best Start Hubs, becoming part of a cohesive system of services and supports guided by a provincial framework and common identity.

The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board has been designated by the Ministry of Education as the service system manager to guide this transformation in partnership with local service providers.  The Rainy River District Best Start Network is acting as the advisory group for the community engagement process.
